Eligibility Criteria
Who can appear for the All India Bar Examination?
Requirements to Appear
To be eligible for the All India Bar Examination, a candidate must fulfill the following two primary conditions set by the Bar Council of India:
LL.B. Degree
A candidate must hold a valid LL.B. degree from a university recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Final Year Students
Final year law students with no backlogs are also permitted to appear for the AIBE, subject to the latest BCI guidelines.
State Bar Enrollment
A candidate must be enrolled as an advocate with any of the State Bar Councils in India.
Example of Eligibility
An advocate who is enrolled with any State Bar Council is fully eligible to appear in the AIBE, provided they meet the educational requirements.
Important Notes

No Upper Age Limit There is currently no upper age limit to appear for the All India Bar Examination.

Number of Attempts Candidates can appear for the AIBE as many times as required until they qualify.

Mandatory Timeline Advocates are expected to clear the exam within two years of their provisional enrollment with the State Bar Council.
